The Challenge

Snap Install partnered with Ergotron to retrofit the NFL’s existing Microsoft Surface Tablet Charging Carts (2 at each NFL stadium), which included replacing the existing shelving, cables, USB dividers, and the innards of each cart, while also completing preventive maintenance on 4 carts during our initial visit. The scope of this retrofit varied from previous years, presenting new challenges and opportunities for our team to adapt. We also performed repairs for 22 of the teams' carts as issues developed throughout the NFL season.

Our Solution

To help ensure our team would be successful with the initial retrofit, we held multiple coordination calls with the manufacturer and scheduled an on-site visit with our partner, Ergotron, to refine our process in real time to better support our technicians. The creation of a “best practices” document helped our techs navigate the complexity and detail involved in the cable management process. We also sent some of our technicians keys to ensure that the carts could be unlocked and accessed during our visit.

Our project managers demonstrated strong coordination skills, effectively managing tight deadlines for the repair requests to guarantee the team's carts were up and running for game day.

The Outcome

Over the course of 8 months, our technicians ensured each team was provided with functional and complete carts following our visits, and each team’s repairs were completed promptly before their next home game. Ultimately, the steps we took to alleviate any issues helped our technicians be as efficient and successful as possible.
